Case Competitions

At the end of each semester, we host mini case competitions that give members hands-on experience tackling real-world marketing challenges. These events help students sharpen problem-solving skills, collaborate with peers, and build strategic thinking, while also providing a valuable experience to highlight on a resume or LinkedIn. The executive board reviews presentations and selects the winning team based on creativity, strategy, and execution, with the winners recognized in the Marketing Today newsletter.

The Fall 2025 Case Competition will be held on November 5, 2025, where participants will present solutions to a real-world marketing challenge. We are honored to welcome Lynn Tran, Director of the North American Integration Lead at Ogilvy, as this semester’s judge. Returning after her role as a Spring 2025 guest speaker, Lynn brings extensive agency experience, including expertise in balancing creative risk with client expectations and developing strategies to persuade clients and launch impactful campaigns.

More details about the competition will be shared throughout the semester and updated on this page.

What to Expect:

  • Participants are presented with a marketing problem based on a real or hypothetical scenario
  • Members form teams of 2–3 and collaborate throughout the semester to brainstorm and develop creative solutions
  • Teams present their solutions to fellow members and the Executive Board
  • The Executive Board selects the winning team based on creativity, clarity, and strategic thinking
  • Winners receive a prize, are featured on our Instagram and LinkedIn, and are recognized in the Marketing Today newsletter
